Soul SIS Ministry Minutes for June 25, 2011 at 11am

 Soul SIS Ministry Purpose- The purpose of Soul SIS Ministry is to have a special ministry just for women, where we can share and socialize with one another.  We can connect, help each other in our times of need, grow in our faith, and come together to make a difference in our community.

1. Soul SIS Ministry Survey- We had the women fill out a survey to let us know what their interest are and what they would like us to cover.  We discussed that we will talk about interest by a blog that will be created by Cecilia through the South Campus Blog.  I will inform the Soul SIS Ministry once this is up and running.
2. Women’s Ministry Name-The name for our Women’s Ministry is Soul SIS (Soul Sisters In Service).  I spoke with Peaches and she informed me of the pricing which will be discussed at the next meeting.  If we order the shirts in the next week of our next meeting she can have done by our first outing.
3. Our Next Meeting-Our next meeting will be Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 6:30pm.  We will discuss in our next meeting a set date for each month meeting.
4. Bible Study- We are studying the book of Esther with Pastor Phillips being our first facilitator.
5. Fellowship Outings/Retreat-We will have our first fellowship outing at Luby’s at 801 North Beckley Road DeSoto, TX, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10am, women on own for breakfast.  We will determine each monthly outing on an every other month basis.  We will talk about a Retreat in our next meeting.
6. Women’s Sunday/Chorus (Which Sunday)- We would like to have the 5^th Sunday for our Soul SIS Ministry and asking all Ladies to sing.  The next 5^th Sunday is October 30, 2011.  We are asking the women to bring their ideas with at list one song to sing for Phiebie to review.  We will discuss more in our next meeting.
7. Community Work- Cathy and Sheila will be working together to get with the local Women Shelters and get their needs.  We will have a drive on their needs starting July 10, 2011 and we will go together as women to deliver Care Packages to the Women Shelter in October.  Our goal is to provide Service and Needs to these Women Shelters.  We will discuss which Shelter we will be targeting first on our next meeting.
8. Fundraisers/Treasurer- We will be discussing fund raising options to help with funds with our Ministry for meetings and eetreat.  Our first fundraiser will be 2 opportunities with 2 Ranger Tickets.  We are asking for $5 donations for the tickets.  We have created our own tickets and try to roll this out in July and have the drawing end of August.  We will discuss more in our next meeting.
