A Move of God is on the Way!

Children in a CircleThe Children and Youth ministry of St. Luke “Community” UMC South Campus are moving to higher heights.  With our eyes and ears we witnessed the unlimited gifts and talents that our children and youth posses. We are excited about the move of God as we experienced the coming together of the whole faith community while our children and youth blessed us during our first children and youth Sunday in the month of August. They led us in worship with powerful praise songs, heart felt prayers, welcoming our guest, celebrating with a

dance and inviting their friends, neighbors, and relatives to participate in this mighty move of God. A move that shares the good news and leads the world to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Let’s take a quick look at what’s happening down South. The Children and Youth Ministries are providing top of line Primetime Live Bible studies, cutting edge worship experiences, outreach and evangelistic activities, all of which prepare our children and youth to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ equipped and ready to transform the world. Now we are getting ready to do something new. Stay tuned as we prepare to move to the next level of this awesome Children and Youth ministry. During the month of September a new move with take place for youth ages 13-19 to join us in our S.W.A.G. AcademySealed With his Abundant Grace. The urban dictionary defines this word as one’s appearance, style, or the way one presents him or her self . Our goal is to present God’s grace in ways that say, “No matter what” you are welcome to experience God’s abundant grace. “  God didn’t go through all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again”(John 3:17 MSG).

I am so excited to serve as the Children and Youth pastor at the South Campus. As I reflect on the move of God down South, I found myself thinking about Hebrews’ faith scripture. Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. I was taught at an early age when we work without ceasing, praying and trusting God, that’s our hope and the evidence is when God shows up right on time. A mighty move of God!
